Continue Reading →

In #Casa Di Lara/ Dekoration

The previous days have shown us that Autumn has come around the corner and as much as I love taking walks outside and covering myself up in scarves & gloves, the wind has really given me the chills & it was super cold the past days so I need to be careful not to catch a cold.

  1. Picture frame from Maisons Du Monde, approx. 13€ / 2. Cosy Plaid from H&M, approx. 50€  / 3. “Vinter” Candle from Ikea, approx. 2,50€ /

Last week I did a teenie, weenie bit of shopping as it was the Glamour Shopping Week, and I also popped into IKEA as they’ve set up their annual Christmas Collection already. Part of that is the “Hot Mulled Cider” Candle, which I couldn’t get my nose out of, because it simply smelt too divine. No words needed to say I took the precious thing home, and it is now waiting to be lit in my new temporary apartment, which I’ll be moving into in November when I start my new job. I always think its important to decorate your home with some nice accessories, no matter if its temporary or permanent; I truly believe that little bits and bobs help you feel like home and that it’s totally okay to take your favourite bed lining & candles with you, if that helps you feel like home quicker. As I’ll be moving to a different city in Germany every three months within the next 1 1/2 years, I will make sure to keep a little suitcase with the things that make me happy and decorate all my future temporary flats with them first thing when I move in. And no, that’s not a waste of luggage, time, or energy, it’s what makes moving easier quite easy for me. Continue Reading →

Oktoberfest Blogger Look – My Look for the Oktoberfest

There’s this thing about being german and travelling the world; most people associate you with beer, dirndl and pretzels, and of course, with the Oktoberfest. It doesn’t really matter if you’re from the north, and the festivities officially celebrated in the south – germans all wear Dirndl and Lederhosen in the eyes of many people abroad. Truth be told is that I’ve never ever been to the Oktoberfest but I really want to. Why? Maybe because I feel like I am missing out on such a traditional event that we seem to be famous for internationally – maybe because I like dressing up in a dirndl, or maybe because I like savoury, classical german meals every now and then, and it’s come to my attention that the “Haxn” on the Wiesn are surpassingly amazing. And maybe because despite the fact everyone seems to be überly drunk, I think it looks like something extremely fun to attend with a group of friends and just celebrate something traditional, which I think we should all be doing more. holiday fuerteventura

Okay, first of all, I need to apologise. I know how many of you have been waiting for this post since July, but deep inside of me there was hope that I would find my camera, which I lost/was stolen from me, which had endless wonderful photographs on it from my holiday in Fuerteventura. I’ve grieved enough, and I hope you’ll put up with smartphone and GoPro photographs, rather than not having any at all. And as a little bonus I’ve also included a mini video at the end of this post, which – (please be nice to me) is my first video I’ve cut together for the blog, so I am fully aware of the fact that there’s room for improvement – but at least you’ll have a laugh at how I fell from my surf board on one of my first attempts – it looks so elegant, doesn’t it? Unfortunately the other footage was also on the camera that’s gone missing – but oh well. Continue Reading →

Hello, Autumn – my favourites & must haves this season.

runway autumn trends

I always get a little bit excited when autumn comes around because in terms of fashion it’s my favourite season of the year. So its no surprise that cosy knits, over-knee boots, dresses and skirts have found their way on my autumn wishlist. Simply teamed up with tights and a scarf – the choice is endless, really. I’m being good and waiting for Glamour Shopping Week to come up in Germany next week so that I’ll be making some bargains for the fall season then. It’s really worth it as most stores give you discounts of 20% – so if you haven’t gotten a copy of the current Glamour Magazine yet, I suggest you do so, because the shopping card is included in there and you’d regret not using the chance to get your hands on a thing or the other. “I remember the moment we reached Stockholm. It felt a bit surreal to be surrounded by so many people after having spent weeks outside in the nature, usually on our own, only seeing the occasional people in the supermarket or when we re-fuelled the car. It was an adventure, oh it really was.”

It’s been 30 days since we arrived back home. We brought back some souvenirs; a cleaning sponge that reads the Swedish word “Fika”, candle-holders from Lagerhaus, some Knäckebröd and memories from twenty-four-days out on the road, surrounded by Scandinavian nature. We drove through Denmark, to southern Norway, up to the Lofoten Islands, stopped by Rovaniemi in Finland, and headed back home through Sweden. Continue Reading →

last days of summer
